• Over 800 children and youths receiving services in 2013
• Focus is on building local community capacity to expand services, to increase the number of children and youths receiving services and to improve overall service quality
• Local community support continues to expand with more involvement and greater ownership
• Botswana’s HIV/AIDS Prevention of Mother To Child HIV Transmission (PMTCT) program is reducing the number of HIV positive infants
• The number of newly orphaned children is declining (child with no living parents) as AIDS treatment is reducing the death rate although the overall orphan rate is still high and the number of vulnerable children is reported to be increasing
